Dear Relatives,
Today morning (18th February 2015 Wednesday) has been born the youngest descendant: Marton Tomor, 3,67 kg, 55 cm.
He is the son of my son. Exactly 6th grade of descendant of Traugott Julius Greiner. Line: Traugott Julius Greiner - Georg Samuel Greiner - Fridrich Greiner (Hungary) - Olga Greiner - Ferenc Tomor (me) - Miklós Tomor - MÁRTON TOMOR

How is one week old little MÁRTON doing?!?! I was thinking about his rich heritage -- the wonderful people who have paved the way for him. Do you have a pedigree chart showing the direct line back to Traugott Julius Greiner -- where they were born? Where they lived? The journey back from Csengod and Palin, Hungary through Belgium and back to Glucksthal, Thuringen... Would love to have you post it here for us!

O.K. The history is very complicated, each of the generations lived several places, in Hungary. As you know, Traugott Cristian Julius Greiner (1789-1845) was the final famous glassmaker in Glückstahl (next to Lauscha, Thüringen, Germany) He had 12 children. The youngest child was Georg Samuel Greiner, as nineth boy. And then the "Leopold, herzog Saxen-Coburg-Gotha" became king of Belgium, he went to the Belgian kingdom together with 5 brothers and 1 sister. Later Georg went away to Poland and to Hungary, because he tried to find new horses for the Belgian king-palace. Finally he bought a land in Hungary, (the name of village is Palin Today this area is a part of the city of Nagykanizsa) and began an agricultural work. And went home to German, to bring his loved girl Johanna Theresa Hoffnman from Eisfeld. Married 1869 February at Eisfeld (Germany, Thüringen) They lived at Palin. Unfortunately, Georg died after some years, 1878 Praga. His first child was Friedrich Constantin Luis Greiner, born 1871. He was my grandfather. Johanna lived alone but could not do the agriculture. She employed a baliff, and the boy went to learn to academy of agriculture. (there was a second boy also, I will write about him later) When Friedrich finished the learning, there was no land, because of the baliff abused her, they became involved. Friedrich became an employer at the state, after at an earl named Hunyadi. The place: Nagyvölgy (Nyitra region, today Slovakia.) This area is a little part of village Ürmény (today Urmin in the slovakian language). Here was born my mother Olga Greiner in 1917 she was the third children. And here died Johanna (1918) mother of Friedrich. While Friedrich worked in Ürmény, he bought an agricultural area in village Csengőd. (Previously he worked next to here as state-employer. And after 1st world war when Hungary lost 2/3 of its area, they could not go home to Hungary. Friedric has died in Csengőd, 1924. My mother grew up without a father, same as her father had done. My mother married in 1941. 2 daughters were birth at the time of 2nd war (My father was a teacher, but he had to became soldier, and only one time did he get a holiday. And he was prisoner of war until end of 1948 or 49 I don't know exactly. I born 1952. Will be continued.

I feel so close to our "cousins" -- it is a soul connection for certain!

Our common gg father was the FOUNDER of our mutual GREINER LINE Hans Greiner gennant Schwabenhans. We directly connect to him through THREE (3) of his children!

·        1) the eldest son Peter Greiner (1572-1634/35) our 11th gg father via his daughter Elisabeth (1594 -1662) who married Nicolaus "Clauss" Muller (1589-1661) –

·         2) the 8th child: Nicolaus gennant Schwabenklaus (1588-1653) our 10th ggfather –

·        3) the 9th child: Hans genannt Fichtelberger (1590-1674) also our 10th gg father – and the line through which our grandmother Else Leist Vassel’s grandmother Mathilde Clotilda Adelheida Greiner descended.

·        It seems that your line is through the 7th child: Stefan Greiner (1587-1640) our 10th gg uncle and his son Adam (1612-1673) our 1st cousin 11 times removed. I believe you already have your connections from them to you. If not, I would be happy to provide the information I have.
